How can I build an address list in the Address Book from the list of recipients for a single message?
Is it possible to copy the list of recipients for some message so that it forms an address list in my Address Book, without having to copy single addresses one by one?

Any address book can have one or more 'Mailing Lists'. Mailing Lists are really useful when you want to send one email to a preselected group of contacts.
Under 'Create a Mailing List' suggest you look at option 2.
Please read info at this link:
Dear Toad-Hall, thank you for your response, but it does not solve my problem. Let me describe it in more detail.
I received an email message that has roughly 300 recipient addresses, all listed in the "To:" field. Some of the addresses are already in my Address Book, some are not. I would like to accomplish the following: 1) import into my Address Book those recipient addresses that are not already there 2) gather all the 300+ addresses (both those that were already in my Address Book and those I juts added) into a single list
Also, I would prefer to accomplish the above without having to check, click or Ctrl-click every single address in the list. Is there a quick and (semi-)automated way to do it?
Thank you in advance Nicola
re: 1) import into my Address Book those recipient addresses that are not already there
Download this addon to desktop or downloads folder. MorefunctionsforAddressBook - download at bottom of page
How to install addon:
- In Thunderbird
- Tools > Addons OR menu icon > Addons
- click on the gear wheel icon and select 'Install addon from file'
- locate the .xpi file you downloaded and click on Open
- When installed you will need to restart Thunderbird.
- Locate and select the email with all those TO addresses.
- right click on one of those addresses not in your address book
- select: Save recipients addresses > as contacts all
- Choose the address book and click on OK
This will add all of email addresses currently not in any address book.
re: 2) gather all the 300+ addresses (both those that were already in my Address Book and those I juts added) into a single list
You can then do one of following: Either use the information in option 2 at the link provided OR and this will be quicker
- Right click on any of those email address
- select: Save recipients addresses > as list all
- Select the address book which had those email address
- Enter a name for the Mailing list
- click on OK
click on 'Address Book' select the address book with contacts you will see an arrow to the left of that address book click on the arrow to reveal the Mailing List You should see all email addresses in that link.
To use the Mailing List see info at the link in previous response.
