How do I set whether the bookmarks subfolders open to the left or the right of the bookmarks drop down pane?

Until recently clicking on the top Bookmarks menu would open a drop down menu and then clicking on the folders in the menu would open those folders to the right of the drop down. Suddenly they started appearing to the left and want to know how to get them opening on the right again.
