"The adobe flash plugin has crashed"
This issue may be soluble; i.e., by wasting 15-30 mins. of users' time fiddling about with their software, but why did it occur in the first place? It didn't occur 5 years ago when watching video on demand. It's been much worse on BBC Iplayer than Youtube - possibly because BBC Iplayer is almost unknown outside the UK - but it occurs on both and got steadily worse with time starting in 2014.
Spending much less time on launching new versions, a lot more time on perfecting existing versions, and re-re-re-re-testing new versions for stability before launch, and testing compatibility with other companies' software, and asking them to do the same, would be an excellent idea. (For most of the world, computers are an end not a means - please remember this when developing and launching new versions of software.. Unfortunately few people do. It is almost as if software developers live in their own world and do not talk to other people.
Brief details: Lenovo PC, used since April 2013. OS Windows 7.

"The adobe flash plugin has crashed"
That's related to Adobe Flash. When Flash causes Firefox to crash a different message appears.
That said, why don't we try to discover whether you have any Firefox crashes that are related to Adobe Flash. A situation that "we" might be able to help you with.
Please follow the steps below to see and to provide us with Firefox crash IDs .
- Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
- Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.
Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.
(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)
Thank you for your help!
More information and further troubleshooting steps can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) article.

As requested here are the last few crash reports beginning with bp:
bp-4558cb72-e308-44fd-aa16-68bcb2150110 10/01/2015 21:35 bp-1628683e-5aba-443a-8235-316762141230 30/12/2014 19:35 bp-b3848989-17e5-4ff7-81f1-cb5d72141209 09/12/2014 17:16 bp-f71393b3-4087-427c-b2d8-1f4902141124 24/11/2014 20:05 bp-27c56064-9106-4510-90da-c072d2141109 09/11/2014 18:51
There were a lot of others not beginning with bp; those beginning with bp were about 10% of the total.
The crash reports are about an older version of the Flash plugin.
- plugin Shockwave Flash Version:15.0.0.246 Filename:NPSWF32_15_0_0_246.dll
You can find the latest Flash player versions for Firefox on this page:
You can check for problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions and try this:
- check for updates for your graphics drive drivers
https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration - disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
- disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
You can toggle this pref to true on the about:config page to disable protected mode in the Shockwave Flash plugin:
- dom.ipc.plugins.flash.disable-protected-mode = true
