In Thunderbird 143.0.1 (64-bit), my appointment invitations are no longer sent automatically to the respective email recipients, as they used to be. I can't find any settings where I can change this. Under ‘Troubleshooting Information’ in the line ‘Send appointment notifications via email’, the value is not set to ‘true’. I look forward to your help. Best regards, Thorsten

When an email that is received from a sender that has previously been marked as spam then Thunderbird activates the "beep" notification. When I tab to Thunderbird to see the email by then it has already been moved by Thunderbird to the Junk folder. This is quite frustrating as it unnecessarily interrupts workflow just to see that it was junk.

I would like it not to notify on messages that go to the Junk folder. Is there some way I can get this to work.

I am really really distraught right now. It took me two weeks to get the time and focus to write a long reply to a company's nice email to me. Stayed up till 2am to write it. Deliberately wanted to re-read it in the morning before sending. Gone. Nowhere to be found. I pressed "Save to draft" before closing my laptop. But not saved. This account actually has a "draft" folder, unlike most of my other accounts in Thunderbird, which I also cannot figure out and no one has helped me with.

I have several email accounts of all types (IMAP, POP, etc.) managed by a single Thunderbird instance (v140.3.1esr 64-bit) running on Windows 11 (latest update).

A few weeks ago, I noticed that the 'Trash' folder on one of my IMAP accounts lost the 'Empty Trash' context menu item. Email I deleted still went to the 'Trash' folder, but I needed to delete them manually. 'Trash' folders on other accounts continued to work as expected.

This afternoon, I noticed that the deleted mails were no longer going to the 'Trash' folder. Looking this up online, I found the following old topic from 2023: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1420657

However, the link cited within that post (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1156586) no longer seems to exist and the details cited there no longer seems to be applicable as the interface and other details provided are no longer representative of the product today.

The elements of the post that seem applicable is a potential corruption of the 'Smart Mailboxes'. If I look at <ProfilePath>/Mail/smart mailboxes, I have several files associated with folders that may or may not be associated with the 'Trash' folder of the email account suffering from this problem. Given the date stamps, I'm not sure what they represent or even if they are involved in the currently running product.

Do note that I have been using this client for more going on 20 years.

Can you please provide updated troubleshooting steps and help me understand how I can map the folders under 'Mail' to the appropriate accounts to be sure I am not disturbing account email that is functioning properly.

I have been trying to filter out and delete emails with certain URLs in the HTML section of the body of the message.

I can get the Body filter to activate and delete the email if I send the specified URL within a simple text message. So the Body filter can activate on sequences in the text part of a multimode or simple text email.

It doesn't, however, seem to activate for the thing I truly need, which is to see a URL (or other sequence) in the HTML part of a multimode. It appears to ignore the HTML section.

Would it be possible to either:

1) allow the current Body filter to scan all parts of a multimode message? OR

2) create a new filter, perhaps named Rawbody, or Raw, etc., which doesn't break down and separate the parts of a multimode first, but simply does a raw scan of the entire body: text, HTML, and all?

I recent upgraded my work computer to a new Mac mini. I reinstalled thunderbird but I am having issues with the drag and drop feature for email attachments.

Normally when I receive an attachment I am able to drag and drop the attachment to the folders on my desktop. This feature has not been working. I have tried doing this in troubleshoot mode and have had the same issue. I’ve also deleted thunderbird and reinstalled it with no luck.

I am on Thunderbird version 143.0.1 (64 bit) My MacOS version is Tahoe 26.0.1

Any suggestions on how to fix this issue would be amazing. Thank you!

E.ON receive emails I have sent to them and I am able to receive emails from just about anyone else eg shop, banks, contacts, etc etc . Can you help me fix this/explain why it is happening? Then it searches and searches, and I can't cancel without forcibly closing Thunderbird. How can I change this? Why can't I do it manually? Problem 1. I've been using Thunderbird for a very long time. Everything has always been fine. But recently, I've been having trouble sending email from one of my accounts. When I try to send a message, a message appears: enter the password for the user... Entering the password doesn't help, and another message appears asking me to contact the network administrator. I contacted them, but they didn't find the cause of the problem, but they suggested changing the password, which I did, and reinstalling Thunderbird, which I didn't do for fear of losing all my email. Changing the password helped for maybe two weeks, and then the problem started all over again. The problem only affects one email address and only on one computer. Sending messages from that address on Android works without any problems.

Problem 2. I installed Thunderbird on my Android phone and encountered a problem when adding two accounts: the first installed without a problem, but I can't install the second one because every time I try, I get a message that the incoming mail server check failed - unknown error 42.

Problem 3. I'm trying to install the program on my second phone - it downloads 99% from the Google Play Store and that's it.

Is there any way to solve these problems, or should I change my email program? Best regards, Andrzej Witkowski

Thunderbird being used as IMAP client for Gmail - with no issues, until recently when an existing email recipient, who sits behind the Barracuda Networks system, fails to receive mail from Thunderbird's recent versions because it is rejected and blocked by Barracuda. I have tried using plain text formats and checked that SMTP server accounts are correct all to no avail, a 550 blocked is the result. The Thunderbird ver is 143 64 bit - However mail from an earlier 32 bit version 115.5 was successfully delivered, later 32 bit ver 140 failed to deliver through the Barracuda system.

Email from Google's own Web client gets delivered and mail from the Android mobile phone app likewise arrives. A simpler IMAP client (MailSpring) manages to get mail thru Barracuda so what has Thunderbird done to appear a threat to Barracuda ? BTW Mailspring is sort of 'Ok' - but it just isn't Thunderbird - it was installed only as a test vehicle !

A disaster happened, but first, let me say that I had to create a new Thunderbird Profile because Thunderbird was acting really strange and also making my e-mails fail DKIM for some reason. After creating the new profile, things were working better, but still some problems. It's been several days. Twice it marked my own e-mails as Junk, and both times I marked them as Not Junk, but that didn't seem to "take".

An e-mail in my Drafts folder is my "in case of death" e-mail. I was editing it to change the To addresses, then told it to save as Draft. That immediate Draft went straight to the Junk folder. WTF? So I go to the Junk folder, select it, right click, and "Mark as Not Junk".

Instead of going to the Drafts folder, Thunderbird sent it. Not only that, the old Draft of the e-mail was sent also!

I'm royally pissed off! How could Thunderbird do something so stupid? First classify my own saved Draft as Junk after my having marked my own e-mails twice before as Not Junk, then send it when I said it was not Junk? This is stupid.

Needless to say, I had to hurriedly sent a retraction e-mail, then made phone calls.

Something is really wrong with Thunderbird Junk processing. After creating the new profile, I've seen junk e-mails sit in my Inbox for 15 minutes before suddenly Thunderbird decides that they are junk.

Thunderbird WAS a good program, but after having to start over with a new Profile, setting up my e-mail addresses again, install add-ins, go through all the settings again, import my e-mails, addresses, and calendars, then have things still going wrong, I'm wondering why I'm still using Thunderbird.

I did change severs over the summer and have had a slew of issues since then, but this is a new issue as of this week. I have multiple email accounts and this is happening on all of them. I am on a mac 140.3.1esr (aarch64). Thanks for any help- this is a debilitating issue.
