Firefox requested helper tool to download after an update & now it will not perform the helper tool to install and Firefox is not responsive and doesn’t start up. I’ve uninstalled it 2x and it will work for a few days then the helper tool install request pops up and the cycle starts over.

I have Firefox on two computers, both on Windows 10. One has a bug, so I need to re-install it. My Firefoxes sync, so I am afraid that if I delete the buggy Firefox and reinstall, I will loose my bookmarks. How do I avoid that? What procedure would avoid that danger?

Good day!!! I updated my browser today, and after that, everything I had in it was reset, from my account, open tabs (there were over 300 of them), passwords, themes, and everything else. If you don't know how to properly test your updates, then don't update your browser at all. Thanks to you, I lost a lot of information I needed. Thank you!!!!! I'm uninstalling your crappy software and switching to Edge or Chrome.

My bookmarks bar, etc have will not synced with my Firefox even though I ran "sync" several times. I haven't used this laptop in quite awhile, so I had to log in and sync. Also in my themes, a certain creator "MaDonna" has error messages on all of them" Cabin in the Mountains (and all others by her) by MaDonna could not be verified for use in Firefox and has been disabled." In my extensions page, I get the same error message. I am beyond frustrated, I'm also very computer literate, but this mess has me baffled and frustrated :(

I have a Windows Surface Pro 8 and when I set it up, I had no issues with the Syncing or Add ons/Themes/Extensions, everything synced just fine. I have Theme categories set up, and that's not even on the Themes page. I have logged into all of my Firefox/Mozilla accounts. Can anyone help?

We’re experiencing intermittent OCSP issues where all our internal sites fail to validate certificates. The problem appears random and sometimes resolves by simply closing and reopening Firefox.

One of your forums mentions disabling OCSP checking via the UI, but that option is no longer available in the latest version (147.0.1).

We’ve temporarily disabled it via about:config by setting security.OCSP.enabled to false.

Is there a permanent way to disable OCSP checking that can be enforced via Group Policy (GPO)?

I've seen similar reports of this in the past. But I believe my case is different.

I had to reset a password tonight, requiring me to re-login to the account in Firefox. But, the tab/window would just freeze. I don't see anything immediately being blocked (ie: any DNS filter etc).

But, I CAN get it to work in Debugging mode, which suggests either there is an extension that is blocking it, or something else (some variable that is otherwise active in regular running Firefox). I just don't know which.

Has anyone else reported this and what might be the issue? I suspect uBlockOrigin (one), which I do use. But the other extensions I use are just for Youtube, IG, etc.

When I have stories (articles) recommended through Pocket on new tabs that I'm not interested in I will typically "thumbs down" or "dismiss" the story. What I have found recently is that causes them to be promoted to me more rather than less. I believe it's interpreting my interaction as engaging with the content rather than not wanting to see it again. For example, I was shown an article on American football three weeks ago and I gave it a thumbs down. Later that day it was three articles. I gave them the same thumbs down. After repeating this process for days, weeks later I'm still getting multiple articles recommended per day related to football. I've never read one out of interest, and I didn't have any recommendations related to sports until the first one I gave a thumbs down. Based on that, I'm convinced it's having the opposite than intended effect. Dismiss doesn't seem make a difference. Please give me a way to tune the algorithm to what I actually want to see, I like this feature and don't want to have to turn it off.

When I try to open a link from a different app, e.g. from calibre to open the Updates link, firefox opens a new instance instead of opening a new tab in the current instance. This causes the browser to throw an error and never open the link.

is this fixable?

Right below the search bar my browser has a warning "The security sandbox is disabled. Your configuration is unsupported and less secure."

I am on Windows 10. I have tried uninstalling firefox, removing appdata and all other firefox files and settings, resetting about:configs settings, disabling my BitDefender antivirus. Nothing fixes it. Completely fresh install of firefox still gives me that message. Sandbox level is default (9).

Any help would be appreciated.

Today following a brief power outage I was no longer able to sign in to AOL with Firefox on my desktop computer. I am able to sign in to all other apps with no problem. I tried clearing my cache, restarted Firefox, restarted my computer and spent 30 minutes on remote desktop access assistance with AOL trying to fix the problem with no success. I can log in to my account using Chrome on the desktop computer and can log in with no problem using my Android phone but can't log in using my desktop computer with Firefox. I've verified that my Firefox version is updated. I am running Windows 11 Pro.

I would greatly appreciate any helpful advice.
