Since I upgraded from FF128-esr to FF140-esr I always get the "Firefox is being updated by another instance" This is really driving me crazy, as I checked / did / .... everything (and even more) I found on the internet related to that.

Nothing helps !

Creating and using a new default profile didn't help

Finally I ended up uninstalling FF completely (making sure no -zero- leftovers remained in ProgramFiles, AppData a.s.o.), and reinstalled FF140.7.0-esr freshly. After installation I started FF immediately with the created default profile (only existing one) --> SAME THING : "Firefox is being updated by another instance"

And this is really a FF140 thing, when I go back to FF128, on the same computer, same profiles, ...., the problem is gone.

I would like to know in detail what checks are really done by FF to decide to give that "Firefox is being updated by another instance"

Before facebook using reCAPTCHA I can easily logo in my Facebook and Instagram account, but now I always failed to pass the reCAPTCHA， I report this to Meta no good reply. Only today I did the reCAPTCHA and then got a reminder that facebook cannot detect the reCAPTCHA. I still cannot logo on to my facebook and instagram account due to reCAPTCHA. It is been like 6 or 7 months now since i move to new pc and i been using firefox in this new pc together with other browsers. I am not really using firefox for anything related to google or gmail but just other website that have 0 relation to them. But i have still logged in my main accounts in firefox. It is been twice that once in a while, when i have to check my gmail accounts, all of them disappear and all i see is just sign in page only. There is no log in again or Please log in to this address or that address but straight up fresh page of google sign in page. I still logged back in when it first happened because i heard about the bug that happened with firefox update but now it happen again. It is as if my cookies just vanished but no, other sites still got their own cookies and there is many cache of other website here. other than my google accounts. What is happening here. Is my firefox bugged or something? Should i reinstall and have to relogin everything "again?"

hi, in my older laptop i have no problem downloading pdf files. Canva or webpages that open as pdf file. But in my new laptop i have idm downloader installed. download helper is also installed yet pdf file is not downloading. In canva it is not downloading at all. in case of pdf webpage the page is staying white with no action. What should i do. I searched web about this but never got an answer. even now i don't know if i explained the problem in a way you could understand

The new "Copy Link to Highlight" button shifted the "search with" option down, which I use regularly.

I have just moved from an old laptop to a newer one - a Lenovo Thinkpad. I have installed Linux Mint and successfully transferred my files and Thunderbird. I also synchronized Firefox and all my add-ons, bookmarks and history came across perfectly. While setting up the toolbar from the customise screen I dragged the home page button onto the toolbar and it just disappeared. The home page is set up in settings. It appears the first time I open a window. I would like to be able to go back to my home page at will, how can I re-instate the home page button?
