Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings and disables most add-ons (extensions and themes).

(If you're using an added theme, switch to the Default theme.)

If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu by clicking on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item:


If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:

• On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
• On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
• On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
  (you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)

Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.

To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

Look thru your add-ons, disable any you don't know about. Then on Windows, Windows > Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. Look for anything that you don't know what it is. Use a web search on them.

Step1: Open the task manager; hold down the <Ctrl> and <Alt> key, and press the <Delete> key. On the top row, select Processes. Look for anything labeled RRSavings. If you see it, right click it and select End Process.

Step2: delete malicious files and folders created by RRSavings.

Open the Windows Explorer. Below are a list of things we want to get rid of.

These instructions don't match my Windows 7. And I think there may be typos. This is what to do. If the instruction does not work properly, STOP ! ! The first line; %documents and settings\all users\Application Data\ RR Savings.exe
should have two % in it, or none. Go to the Windows Explorer. At the top address bar, (what folder you are looking at) left click and enter C:\. From the folder list, double click documents and settings, then on the new list, all users, then Application Data. Look for and delete RR Savings.

The next line; %windows%system32\ drivers\RR Savings Ads
Enter %windows%system32. double click drivers. Delete RR Savings.

Next %AppData%\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Templates\[random]
Enter %AppData%, then double click Roaming, Microsoft, Windows, and Templates in turn. As to [random], look around for any RR i guess ? ! ?

Now %AppData%\Local\[ RR Savings].exe
Enter %AppData%, click Local, and delete RR Savings

%programdata%\ RR Savings Ads
Enter %programdata%, and delete RR Savings anything

Lastly, %program files%\ RRSavings pop up Ads virus\
Enter %program files%, and delete RRSavings anything

Step3: Registry Editor. DO AS INSTRUCTIONED ! ! ! ! ! If you have a question or problem, STOP ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! and ask.

Windows > Start > Run. In the run box, enter regedit. This is the Registry Editor. This stores all kinds of information that the computer and the programs use. Anything done wrong here can cause BIG problems.

This is what we want to delete;

I will show you how to do the first one. Just do the others the same way.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\ RR Savings Ads

On the left side is a directory tree. On the main path, look for HKEY_CURRENT_USER. Double click. Look for SOFTWARE and Double click. Continue with Microsoft, Windows, CurrentVersion, and Run On the right side, look for RR Savings, right click and select Delete.

Do the same with all the others on the list.

Make certain you do not skip anything.

After you are done, Close down ALL programs, then reboot.

Again, if at any point there is a problem, S T O P ! ! ! ! ! ! and ask.

It’s very sad, but many of the software down-loaders / installers will trick you into installing not only their program, but other programs as well. You have heard of the fine print in shady contracts, right? Well, some installers you need to look at the itsy bitsy teeny weeny fine print. You are thinking you are giving the installer permission to install the program you want by using the recommended option. But if you use the Manual Option Instead, you discover all kinds of stuff that you do not even know what it is or what it does. From now on, everyone needs to Use The Manual Option to put a stop to this.
