Firefox not playing Youtube videos, please help?

Simple question, still, nothing I've tried has worked. The video is just a black rectangle on the page. It happens with every video on Youtube.

I had version 12 of Firefox and it didn't work, upgraded to 13, still not working. I do not have real player installed, I downgraded Flash to 10 point something, disabled the Shockwave flash and still they won't play! Getting ticked off and sick of having to use IE.

Someone please help me?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

Try to "disable the hardware acceleration" in the Flash Player.

Go to the site below and follow the directions there. I just fixed it for myself. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/flash-113-crashes#w_step-1-uninstall-flash-11-3

Thanks sallu25, but I already tried that. It was the exact same article in fact, still it made no difference. :(

Thanks you cor-el! It worked fine in safe mode and it turns out the first extension Adblock Plus 2.1.1 was faulty. (And no, I had not ad blocked the Youtube videos lol) Thank you so much!
