At the bottom of the browser, there is the statusbar. Up there, appeared suddenly (by pressing a keyboard shortcut, i don't know) a little bar, that took the whole width. When i click on it, hold it, and dragged it to the top of the browser, it was hiding the content. The more higher it came, how more it was hiding the content. Well, at the forum I don't know how to search for it, so it can be that this question could be asked before, or I am just missing a page where all those things are... should be something easy.

Is the bar that you are seeing the Windows XP Taskbar That shows what applications are open, and often has the clock and start icons on it. The taskbar can be docked on other sides of the screen, have variable size and content and be made to auto hide. made to auto hide.

  • right click the new bar, and look at and modify its properties
  • does this help MS kb link How to move the Windows Taskbar from its default position or reset it to its default position (also contains links for related subjects)

It is not the taskbar, but it's in Firefox itself. Up to the staturbar (with, like, siteadvisor, when hovering over a link, there appears where the link is linking to, and things. Up there is that bar.

Maybe I can give you an image for showing what I mean.

No image, I never did find instructions for including images, but have done it with screen shots using a jpg, the procedure is straightforward, I am not sure if there are size limits or only certain file formats allowed.

That appears to be caused by a problem with an extension. Follow the procedure in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to identify the culprit.

The problem was actually gone already yesterday, by clicking Firefox away and start it again, but now, after turning my pc back on, and starting Firefox then, the problem did accure again. By starting in the Safe mode it disappeared and by following the steps of the extentions it didn't came back though. Now it's gone, but i think it will return after shutting down the computer and get it back on...

No, it did came back again, but after restarting it was gone again.
