Firefox is downloading images in a firefox code and not as a jpeg. How do i fix?

i cannot get the pictures in my email to open as jpeg's. firefox keeps converting them to firefox files and they won't open in anything

You can change the file extension of the files to .jpg --- "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now" "Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies" --- See also "Reset Download Actions": http://kb.mozillazine.org/File_types_and_download_actions

If you have saved image files that do not work then rename in Windows Explorer them and change the (html) file extension to .jpg That should give you a valid image.
