I clicked on a toggle button in upper left of Firefox wondow and now Google haas taken over my account? and I can't open multiple tabs.

Hello, I accidentally clicked on a new toggle button and it opened a Google sidebar. I also now do not have the ability to have multiple tabs open on the same browser. If I clcik on command-T (Mac), the screen goes dark. What happened? Can I get my old system back, without this Google sidebar?
