Move Thunderbird data to a new windows computer

Transfer Thunderbird email and data to another computer. I have attempted to transfer my email data from / to Windows 10 computers. The instructions seem straightforward but so far I have not been able to bring up the "new" computer after copying / transferring the data. I have a Linux laptop I could transfer to, but the versions don't match and I'm not sure it would work anyway. Any help or direction to instructions (I thought I have looked everywhere) would be great. Thanks

This is how I've always done it. It preserves your whole existing setup:

1. Launch Thunderbird on the host PC

2. Go to Thunderbird menu > Help > Troubleshooting Information

3. Click the Application Basics > Profile Folder 'Open Folder' button

4. The profile folder will open; navigate three levels up to the Roaming folder

5. Close TB, then copy the Thunderbird folder to a flash drive

6. Go to the target PC's Roaming folder as instructed above and delete the Thunderbird folder

7. Paste the Thunderbird folder from the flash drive to the new PC

8. Launch Thunderbird
