Is your Windows taskbar set to hide? What happens when you hit the windows key? Is there are reason for this version of Firefox?

yes, my taskbar is set to hide. windows key reveals the taskbar. i like esr - the constant updates are a pain in the ass - not to mention that the old one is often better than the new.

and - i found out that the windows shortcuts to launch other applications don't work either. so i assume that firefox incorrectly grabs a "stay on top."

about:config ontop=false has no effect.

So if you click the desktop and then move the mouse down to the bottom of the screen, will the taskbar come up?

no. it only comes up with the windows key.

Is Firefox in full screen mode and that's why you cannot see the taskbar? Have you tried setting the bar to show and then setting it to hide again? Can you also post a pic of your desktop showing the issue?
