Thunderbird compacting.

Hi. Thunderbird has started to ask to compact nearly everytime I open it. This never used to happen so often. My number of stored emails hasn't changed much. My inbox is only 250MB and my deleted folder 49MB which is set to store only for 50 days. Other folders are only a few MBs each. Is it that my inbox is too large?

Disable that reminder.

Thanks, but how do you disable the reminder?

Go to Options > Advanced > Network & Disk Space > Compact all folders when it will save over ###MB in total.

Frequent, unnecessary prompts to compact are often a sign of a corrupted folder. Deleting the mbox and msf files from the profile folder, and having TB automatically create new ones on restart, may fix the problem:
