Can't access "Comments" on any website using "Disqus."

Firefox (68.0.2 (64-bit)) with OS X (10.11.6 (15G22010)) and extensions LastPass (4.31.2.3) and DuckDuckGo (2019.8.21) will no longer allow access or even viewing of any website "comments" section using "Disqus." Disabling *either or both* allows access. This is a very recent problem, not caused by any changes in "Firefox" prefs that I'm aware of. (DuckDuckGo was apparently updated on 21 Aug., but the problem didn't show up until 26 Aug. Computer used every day. Cookies, cache already deleted, Firefox “refreshed” per directions, no joy.)

Thanks for your help, folks! Turns out it was the 219.8.21 version of DDG that was the problem. I reverted to the 219.7.19 version, and everything worked as advertised.

M_C_I_S_, where did you find the "Site Privacy Protection in DuckDuckGo"? I 'd like to try that solution, but can't find where it can be changed?

Again, thanks to one and all for your help; no surprise, y'all can always be counted on to "know something"!

Hi dugga, You're right, DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials is blocking Discus comments. You can disable Site Privacy Protection in DuckDuckGo (whitelist) then refresh the tab.

Just a suggestion. Take a look at Privacy Badger, which is what I use. It affords more specific control over trackers to allow what you want to see while continuing to block other trackers, instead of whitelisting a site entirely.

DD privacy essentials was my problem too. Disabled it, Discuss Comments back to normal. Thanks.

I tried out duck duck go for awhile, and probably the 'privacy essentials" was part of their shtick. I went back to using Bing for several months, and had no problem until two days ago. Then no Discuss comment box. I read online that the DDGo "privacy essentials" was the problem, so I went into the FF add-ons and disabled it it, and no more problems with Discuss. Hope that helps.

Hi dugga, The Site Privacy Protection in DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials is right there when you click on the toolbar button.

Eveyone: Notice that Privacy Essentials is made by DDG. All of the other versions are submitted by other developers.

Oh, geeze! DUH! (Good thing my head's permanently attached...)

Thanks for your help!!!

Don't feel bad... DUH gets a lot of attention around here!

Happy Browsing!
