thunderbird 60.3 freezes after I send an email, on macOS Mojave

I upgraded to Thunderbird 60.3 recently on an iMac. Since then, it freezes right after I send an email and I have to use Force Quit. Running macOS Mojave (10.14.1). Is there any fix for this?
