How to keep separate profiles from both updating?

OS Win 7 premium: 64bit: I have two profiles set up. One, "Default", should be the latest version and update automatically. The other, "OldVer" should never update so I don't lose the use of the plugins that I created it to use - these are disabled in the newer versions. However, when I backdated the OldVer profile to Ff50, the Default did so too, and if I update Default, OldVer updates into uselessness. I need the two profiles to update (or not) independently. I have found no info on achieving this. Advice?

Hi, If have 1 program and it gets updated it's updated regardless if have 1 or more Profiles.

You can use the Developer Edition which is a Beta and always will be updating to newer version every other couple of days in Compatibility mode with a older version of Firefox.

It shares your bookmarks and more. So always :

Note: Windows users should download the ActiveX for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the ActiveX.

You would have to install the two different Firefox versions you want to use via a custom install in their own Firefox program folder to have them distinct.

Firefox 52.7.3 ESR:

Firefox 59.0.2 release:

You need to make sure to start each version with its own profile. Then you can set the update settings of each version like you desire in Options/Preferences. Keep in mind that 64-bit Firefox versions only support the Shockwave Flash plugin.
