I would like to find out if there is a way to create events and tasks via ios or android's email client service. What would be the best way, if possible?

The way I do it is via my Gmail account. I have an Android phone and there are several apps to manage a Google calendar and Google tasks. The Thunderbird calendar (actually the Lightning add-on) works perfectly with the Google calendar, and the Google Tasks Sync add-on works with Google Tasks. So I can create/manage events and tasks on the phone or in Thunderbird, and the two devices keep in step. I don't know about IOS so I can't say this is the 'best' way, but it works fine for me.

Thank you. Do you happen to have a link to a set up tutorial?

Not a tutorial as such -- I think I found out how to do it by following guidance I found here and there on the internet. The first step, obviously, is to get a Gmail account (if you haven't got one already) and set up your calendar using the Gmail interface on the web. You can set up task lists there too. Then you set up Lightning to work with the Gmail calendar. The advice given here suggests you use an add-on: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/using-lightning-google-calendar There's a more detailed tutorial, with screen shots, here: https://www.alansitsolutions.com/blog/2014/06/26/adding-google-calendar-thunderbird/ Personally I found the 'Provider for Google Calendar' add-on a bit unreliable some time ago (it might have been revised since) so I connect my Gmail calendar to Lightning using CalDAV. Brief instructions are given here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1097284 If you have problems with the add-on, try CalDAV instead; I have found it very reliable and straightforward. As for my tasks in Gmail, I use the add-on mentioned in my previous post. As far as I recall it was straightforward to install and set up and there were instructions on the add-on web page. I hope that helps!
