All my bookmarks is gone

Yesterday I had some problems with firefox, I had to force shutdown because it stoped working. Then when I restarted firefox it just gave me a blank page instead of asking me if I wanted to recover last session, then it suddenly uppdated to the newest version. I then did a reset of firefox just to be safe because I also discoverd some threats to my computer.. I then discoverd that all search history for this month was gone but not april.. So I uninstalled firefox and reinstalled it.. Now all search history was gone and to my despair, all of my bookmarks that I have collected since last year! I have searched for an answer to why and cant find anyone. I cant make a recovery because that option is empty and the map that stores firefox bookmarks is also empty so I can only guess they are gone forever but how? Can someone give me an answer to what happend and if it possible to get the bookmarks back?

What is your computer system and Firefox?

Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; Old Firefox?

I use windows 7 and have firefox 46.0.1

I dont have that folder

I installed firefox again

When I open my firefox profile using the toolbar menu the bookmarkbackup folder is empty

When I use the start menu and type in search firefox profile comando it shows me 3 diffrent folders with diffrent content and either no bookmarks or empty

Im at my wits end...

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox. A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

Is the problem still there?

If you still can't find your bookmarks,

Restore Bookmark Backups

To open the Bookmarks Manager, press the Alt or F10 key bring up the tool bar, and select Bookmarks. Hot key is <Control>(Mac=<Command>) <Shift> B.

Once the window is open, at the top of the page, press the button labeled Import and Backup. Select Restore. From the list, pick the file you want and click it.
