How do I restore calendar functionality that has just disappeared
I have thunderbird 38.5.0. I am not sure when it happened but my calendar functionality has disappear -- I cannot event toggle the "Today Pane" on and off.
How do I get the functionality back? I have not knowingly modified my thunderbird set up recently i.e. I have not added or removed pluggins / extensions etc.

perchance, did this happen to you when you updated a month or two ago from 38.3.0 to 38.4.0?
does functionality restore if you delete the lightning addon in tools | addons, and reinstall it?
Hello Wayne,
I have no idea when the problem occured -- I have never manually updated, I think it updates automatically and I don't know when it does so. About a month or so ago I could use the calendar, but now it is gone.
There is no lightning add-on button to delete. (I thought that lightning was now integrated into thunderbird -- I do not recall ever adding it, but I may have done)
It is not "integrated", but offered as a default add-on. As such it can be enabled, disabled and also removed.
You could go to Tools|Add-ons and attempt to add it afresh. Just type Lightning into the search box.
Thanks Zenos, that seemed to fix it. Thankfully my existing calenadar tasks were not lost!
