When I am exporting the address book from Thunderbird, the file that is saved is empty and it doesn't have any of the data

In 'Address Book' Select an address book - Not 'All Address Books'. Tools > Export choose where to save give file a suitable name Save as eg: Comma separated.csv
Export each address book individually.
If you try to export the 'All Address Books' option as Comma separated.csv to read in eg: Excel, you will find it is blank and will offer a read only mode. You may also discover you cannot delete that file until you close Thunderbirds 'Address Book' window.
