When I try to visit certain site, such as my senator, it appendends https and it won't then go to the site. I have to use IE.
This happens often, and with different sites. I try to visit a site that I have previously visited. Firefox will not go to that site. It seems to attach "https" and then gets lost, or says the site does not exist. When I try to type the correct site name, it changes it to the incorrect name. I end up having to use a different. browser.

Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
- Click the menu button , click Help and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
- On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
- On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
- On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.
To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.

It seems to attach "https" and then
Next time it adds "https" to the address, go to the address bar, and remove the s leaving it as "http". Does that help?
None of this seems to work. If I remove the 's' or delete the entire first part, the browser just put it back the way it think it should be and won't go tot he site.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

You also seem to be using Zemana.
Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.
