Date picker for input type="date" does not use locale settings

The date picker for date type input fields always shows as mm-dd-yyyy which is the US format. I have set the locale in Windows 10 to English South Africa, and the short date format to dd-MMM-yyyy. Older documentation for Firefox says I must download the version of Firefox that is localized to UK or ZA, but the installer never gives me the option to select any version. Help|About tells me it is version 57.0 (64 bit) but does not say if it is localized to anywhere.

I would like to see dates in UK format day, month, year, and Monday as the first day of the week. Is that possible?

You can download the South African version from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#en-ZA .

Thanks for that link, I couldn't find it from your home or download pages.

I installed that version, but now it shows the date in yyyy/mm/dd order, and the week still starts on a Sunday which is weird as the week starts in the middle of the weekEND.

Well make sure while installing firefox delete it properly and download in your own language firefox pack and set the time zone and format in your PC once again when the firefox download is complete.

Yes Kamrul, I did an un-install and installed the EN-ZA version, and have checked the regional settings in Windows 10 to ensure that the date order is dd-mm-yyyy, and the first day of the week is Monday. Those settings are still being ignored.
