Windows 10 trouble-shooter says that TB is incompatible

I have been having problems for sometime with the slowness of downloading emails. When I used Windows troubleshooter and selected TB to be tested the result came up as "Thunderbird was incompatible" TB worked perfectly until about six months ago, then after a W10 update it started to go slowly. When I get into Safe Mode it works ok and when I return to normal mode it works well at first then slows down. What if anything can I do?
