All pages load with the minimum of graphics with some links transparent. Why?

My anti-virus software removed an "infiltration" labeled: Driver.exe. It appeared to be causing severe delays in loading internet pages. Once the infiltrator was cleaned, your pages were also quite 'clean' (boxes and text and missing graphics) Did this infiltration affect Firefox? Do I need to perform some 'global' settings for Windows 7 Professional?
