You ask me to ask a brief question. I did that. You send me to the library to flip through documents and articles. I said none of them answered my question. You said, "Let's ask our community of users". You tell me to be nice, because these are volunteers who take time out of their day to help. I say, again, WHY DON'T YOU ANSWER MY QUESTION? WHEN I CLICK ONTO AN EMAIL THERE IS A HUGE POP UP THAT TURNS MY SCREEN DIM AND COVERS THE SCREEN WITH DIRECTIONS OFF THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY SCREEN ABOUT SEARCHING FOR LOCAL WOMEN. IT HAPPENS WHEN I AM TRYING TO COMMUNICATE WITH SOMEONE IN PARTICULAR THAT HAS SENT ME A MESSAGE. THE QUESTION IS: WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO STOP THIS POP UP?

Well this is your chance and you spent all that time ranting and them turned on caps to make ist as hard as possible to read what you have written. Clearly you missed the bit about be nice.

You click onto an email in Thunderbird. Is that correct. What your describing sounds like email in a browser, not a mail client.

I clicked on an email to receive a message sent to me and the fog set in and a huge pop up covered my screen that directed me to something else off to the right of my screen. If I click on it (after I can't get rid of it) it proceeds to sign me up for another website or something. It happens regularly, and I can't get it to go away. How do I handle this. Many times other pop ups jump in the way, but at least I am able to X them out. donsin@eastex.net

This does not sound like a Thunderbird issue.

It sounds like you have browser windows popping open randomly offering stuff you never asked for.

Reboot your computer in Safe mode. Run your Anti-Virus program. Suggest you also try other software like Malwarebytes.

ps. Just in case you didn't read the part on etiquet, please do not use Caps as it can be construed as shouting.
