I have read through and followed all the suggested fixes listed in these boards, but this unresponsive script warning continues to haunt me. It is really impacting my ability to work. I hate the idea of going back to IE, so any assistance would be appreciated. I have removed all traces of Skype and any Skype add-ons or plug ins, and the other security software mentioned is not on my computer. I am in Win8, running the latest version of Firefox, and I use Advanced SystemCare Ultimate for all anti-virus, malware and other systems upkeep. THANK YOU!!!!!

hi akgurl63, this problem is most likely caused by the skype click-to-call addon which stills shows up in your list of extensions. please go to the firefox menu ≡ > addons > extensions in order to disable it there...

I already removed the skype click to call add-on. I used the iObit Uninstaller to remove all traces of it. I also removed skype. I am skype free.

the data you have provided (on the top right under "more system details") shows otherwise though...

There are other things that may need attention.

Your System Details list shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize prefs each time Firefox starts. The user.js file will only be present if you or other software has created this file and normally won't be present.

You can check its content with a plain text editor (right-click: "Open with"; do not double-click). The user.js file is read each time Firefox is started and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.

You can delete the user.js file if you didn't create this file yourself.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

Windows hides some file extensions by default. Among them .html and .ini and .js and .txt, so you may only see a file name without file extension. You can see the real file type (file extension) in the properties of the file via the right-click context menu in Windows Explorer.
