Back, Forward and Refresh Buttons There, Not Availabe To Use
I downloaded 5 because 4 was crashing and FF sent information on downloading new version. Now, the buttons are there but are shaded, not black. They are not available to sue. Navigation is checked. If it were not checked, the buttons would not be there at all.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Another possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
This is now intermittent. I do not understand not making changes in safe mode. What am I doing there, just to check things? Where would I correct, the Bookmarks_history link?
As you can see, I am a bit afraid to do anything at this point. When I downloaded FF it blew out my AVAST and MajicJack. All is OK now, but I never know what is going to happen.
And crashes have stopped but man it takes forever to load pages.

AHAAAAAAAA!! Now it is intermittent in this way: My first window I open there is a link/URL/website in the browser and back/forward/refresh buttons in black and not in grey.
BUT, all other windows no link/URL/website or buttons.
