My computer slowed to a freezing halt while browsing for a long time on the web 2 days ago. Computer couldn't respond so I unplugged it from the power. Worked fine when I turned it back on and went on. Today, the problem continued again although I managed to see what is going on with Task Manager, I see the Firefox plugin-container.exe using a whopping 298,980 K of my ram which is 1 GB. Do you know what is causing this and why it's being a resource hog?

The answer involves working out what your plugins are doing, and what you were doing in that browser session were you for instance looking at pdf s and videos ?
