How do I stop the find bar at the bottom of the page from coming up. I know how to close it, but I want to disable it from coming up ?

every time I open firefox a box appears at the bottom of the page and when I go to type in an address it starts typing it in this box, how can I stop that box from appearing ?? I know I can click on the x at the bottom right to remove it, but sometimes it pops up again, I want to disable it completely ??? Thanks

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
