I need a way to change my password in Thunderbird. I cannot sign in with the password I have used for several years, due to the fact that my hard disk had to be completely revamped, which also resulted in numerous files being erased. Apparently, this included my Thunderbird password. Unfortunately, the Thunderbird software does not (yet) make provisions for changing a password. I doubt that I am the only user who would welcome this possibility. I know for a fact that numerous other software programs find ways to enable a change of passwords.

My primary password was change on June 16, 2026. I did not initiate the change, nor have information about the new password. I have recovery keys I would like to try. I am not certain whether when the password was changed the recovery keys were as well.

The first step in support instructions is to click >forgot password< button at sign it. There is no such button.

I finally got another laptop computer(Windows 11) & want to use Thunderbird there also. with same e-mail & password Just today I finally was able to get a new password for my ISP- windstream.net. How do I go about getting my password changed as I am unsure of what the hacker did. I really don't want to start over from scratch. My e-mail address is labman1@windstream.net. I don't really want to start a whole new account or entity. What do I do to go about changing the password? HELP !!!!
