How do I disable Google "features" such as Instant and Preview without having to accept cookies from Google and without any add-ons?

After upgrading to Firefox 8, removing the string from "general.useragent.extra.firefox" no longer disables Google Instant or Previews.

I also tried putting "www.google.com" for this value. That did not work either.

Except for creating a shortcut to http://www.google.xx/webhp?complete=0 (which still allows Instant on the SERP and doesn't disable the Preview "feature", none of the solutions on the page you sent me solves the issue without allowing Google cookies or installing an add-on.
