when opening email a US Search page comes up

i use google email. when firefox opens i hit my email button and i get a yahoo homepage with US Search on it and weird results... i close page entirely, hit email again and it works fine. this just started a month ago...

Firefox doesn't come with an "email button", what did you install into Firefox that added that button?

Also, what is that search for? (the name of the search at the top of that page)

i use the gmail notifier icon. i've used it for years with no problem, and re-loaded that as well. that is the "email button" i referred to.
