Why is one of my two email accounts Quota / Storages vastly bigger than the other?

Mike Brown

I have two email accounts, one is showing 5% of 100GB and the other is showing 94% of 3.9GB. Why the large difference? I cannot find anything about there being a Quota nor was I aware there was one when I signed up or if this is correct how to get a larger quota. Any advice appreciated please. Mike

Storage quotas are dictated and enforced by the email provider, not by Thunderbird.

Many thanks Lin. I thought it was strange but thought that as the figures were given in Thunderbird it was a "Thunderbird thing" but couldn't find anything about it on the website or elsewhere! It makes sense now you say it as the 100GB account is a Gmail account and the other a club account with a club address. Thanks! Mike

Right. The Quota numbers you see in Thunderbird are only what the provider's server tells it. Don't shoot the messenger! ;)
