Desktop Firefox on windows crashes after minutes after update to version 153.0 (64-bit)

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A list of Submitted (and Unsubmitted, if any) Crash Reports will appear, similar to the one shown below.
2. Copy the 5 most recent Submitted Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

Hello all, after further restarts of windows and of firefox, but no specific intervention, the problem has gone away. Hope this is of help to people... Tho' better still I hope your system doesn't suffer the same problems that mine has. BW, -Nick

Hi Paul, thanks for this. I tried finding a crash report as you suggest, but the only thing I got back was a blank screen apart from the text: 'No crash reports have been submitted.' I some cases it was perhaps not a crash but a lockup, ('hang'?) from which I crashed out of Firefox, but in several it crashed in the sense of closing of its own accord. I went to 'Firefox data collection and use' to check whether this is consistent with any setting, and I see that the only setting I haven't got ticked is the one 'Automatically send crash reports.' Some time ago I reached a stage when slowing/ hanging/ locking-up/ crashes were very frequent and took a long time to recover from; one of the aspects of the delay appeared to be the compilation of crash reports. Accordingly I turned the option off. Does that prevent the reports from being created as well as being not sent? Anyway, I found a workaround for the frequent slowing/ hanging/ locking-up/ crashing behaviour, because I eventually noticed that it was related to automatic updating processes- while Windows still does its own thing willy-nilly, I have at least been able to stop Firefox from doing updates unbidden, and that aspect controlled manually at least stops most of the crashes which used to occur at the least convenient moment. These trivia of my strained relationship with my laptop and the internet are probably of no interest to anybody else, but I include them in the forlorn hope that they may help someone somewhere...
