These Firefox articles don't explain what containers are or what there basic purpose is. I haven't found advantage over organizing your bookmarks. It would be great to have an explanation like "containers are designed to..." or "containers protect your privacy by..."

I agree that the article does not go into detail here. It says the key thing, though:
Each container is isolated from the others, so you can access sites logged into different accounts.
So, what containers do is isolate cookies and site data. This, particularly, allows you to use several accounts for a single website independently and reduce the risk of cross-site tracking even more.
I've opened a bug for improving the article(s).
