loosing forms when temporary using different app

When filling out an online form I sometimes need to switch to another app to get info. E.g. to find my bank account number.

However when I return back to Firefox the form often clears it even disappears and Firefox takes me to back to the previous page meaning I have to start again.

This is annoying if I only need one piece of info as I can cut and paste it but if I need two it makes it impossible to complete the form

Is there a setting I need to change?

  • scroll down advanced setting
  • click "open links in apps" button

choose

  • always
  • ask before opening
  • never
