For about 2 weeks now, the audio volume on youtube videos fluctuates up and down. The volume starts off low when a person starts to talk. For example, when the person in the video starts to talk, their voice volume is very low then within a second or two, the volume rises to normal as they talk. When they finish a sentence and start a new one (when there is a short pause in the audio) their voice is again at a very low volume, rising to normal in a second or two. This repeats as they speak throughout the entire video. This is not specific to any youtube video or youtube channel, it happens on all youtube videos. I have tried updating all audio drivers in Windows 11 - no improvement. I have tried rebooting the computer - no improvement Firefox is up to date, version 133.0 I have tried watching the same videos using Chrome and I do not have this problem.

brad9126, I think that Youtube has added a volume balancer / normaliser feature. Perhaps it is enabled in your Firefox profile but not in your profiles for other browsers?

If you open the Settings menu of a video, is there an option named Stable volume? Is it enabled in Firefox?
