Moving folders

I use nested folders quite a lot as i organise concerts , holidays etc. Then when the list of subfolders get too long i like to create a new folder (e.g. called "2017") and then drag the previous years events into that new folder. When I do this, it seems i can do this with one folder only. So if i have :( Holidays> France ; Holidays > Italy ; Holidays > Wales) as a folder structure I want to change this to : 

(Holidays > 2017> France; Holidays > 2017> Italy ...etc).
