i'm seeing a bunch of anomalies such as taskbar buttons closing & reopening without my doing anything to cause it. i'm seeing flashes of some sort of changes to the top window border. i'm seeing the text input stop responding momentarily. i'm seeing windows open & close before i can see what they are. i'm seeing a busy icon for the mouse pointer while some of these things are happening.

the browser itself hasn't crashed & the plugins haven't crashed (though flash crashed a time or two). i turned off the automatic adjusting of the clock & that caused things to stop for about a minute or two & then it began doing it again.

it is beyond annoying & justifiable reason for me to not only uninstall firefox but also speak of the avoidance publicly.

You may have ad / mal-ware. Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

Is the problem still there?

all of those scanners came back without infections reported. after attempting to use firefox in safe mode, the problems i've been seeing didn't go away.

it doesn't make a whole lot of sense because this operating system install is only about a month anda half old & i didn't install anything other than usual (other than those anti malware programs & a different virtual audio cable that has been installed before without the same sort of problems with different browsers).

there really isn't much installed either. i don't click links from sources i'm unaware of. at first i thought it might of been because of using noscript & somebody bumping into it - yet using safe mode causes the browser to function without any add ons & thus can't be noscript. makes me think it might be once again a problem with flash. i think a somewhat definitive call about flash might be whether the newer graphics cards choose to hardware accelerate it or left it out entirely for the newer protocols.

seems as though i managed to pick up the discourse from visiting a flash chat room (room7.com) & has somehow managed to stick with me finding me again & again despite hardware changes. i've changed everything except the cpu heatsink & went as far as getting a power conditioner. though prior to that was a bunch of portcls.sys problems & i'm unaware of whether the problem is related or coincidence.

i think it is odd flash is unable to kernel itself, as though there was extra added to it & the list can't be manually updated - thus needs new version rollouts to change the master list, with a secondary alternative using zero connections of a blank master list.

seems ironic such a dumb thing would be allowed to make it to public use without being flagged as inappropriate & thus not applicable. sorta makes me think as to any hacks being allowed are petty damages - yet some people forget after roughly two decades, a lot of petty damages add up to a situation of horrific tenor.

i've thought about people coercing me to use linux, but what they don't get is being stressed out & wanting to rest is the exact opposite type of situation where i want to learn a whole new operating system in a comfortable environment. somewhat similar to working on a vehicle going slow to check every bolt & nut as it comes off, yet being aware of the rationality of being without a second vehicle to travel while working on the first one.

though it shouldn't come as much of a surprise because microsoft was nice & allowed a free upgrade, telling everybody about how good it is - yet i've had more problems with this operating system than any other; though all the while the problems started way back with using windows xp .. add up how bill gates was demoted & the picture allows a clear response.

seems odd a super computer was able to be kerneled yet unable to help, unless it somehow got all it's circuit traces disconnected. then who knows, perhaps none of them people are allowed to connect them again because they got caught the first time from interpolation. then prediction ability aiding to all those associated in the future keeping their group from setting things right, it really doesn't add up to a sensible approach. though neither does receiving all the balderdash occurrences on my screen.

i heard if people just want a smartphone that works fast & fluid basically all the time, they get an iphone & suffer from a lack of audio & camera quality - yet if that isn't entirely truthful, then it isn't linux they are after it is apple's operating system. yet apple's operating system has said to be able to be installed on windows hardware & windows operating system has been said to be able to be installed on apple hardware. thus the situation doesn't appear to be as entirely locked down as their attitude claims.

i've gone through the motions of thought & the world is becoming apocalyptic if not a holocaust. but if the internet ever manages to get shut off, people with such incessantly obnoxious problems will once again prove problematic during a time where there is not only less tolerance but also much less of an ability to hide. more people are aware of their physical safety than they are their digital safety. thus don't think everything will be as equally bad as it is. there's a lot more unity going to happen if the economy slows down much or stops altogether. basically why computers came last rather than either the other two.

Have you tried the computer safe mode?

i always thought the computer safe mode was with less security from the operating system, otherwise why wouldn't all of us be using safe mode constantly?

i've seen windows lose it's activation & that proves the problem is apparently somebody microsoft certified. or their activation servers went down & it triggered the missing activation. (isn't the first time it has happened either).

With the Computer in Safe Mode, only system programs are running. Nothing else unless you start them. While there may be less security, sometimes it's the program causing the problem.

Do you still need help on this?

safe mode with networking doesn't allow the usb wlan adapter to work, therefore I wasn't able to use firefox & see if there was a difference.

using Microsoft edge doesn't show the same list of problems.

easier to uninstall firefox & use a different browser.

Did you mean with the computer in Safe Mode? That means one of your programs is causing the problem.

As a test, disable your protection programs.

when the internet isn't working because of being in safe mode, how do you expect me to use any browser?
