How do I set up a manuscript for a novel?
I tried Abi ... didn't work as far as numbering consecutive pages within a header. In fact, couldn't set up a header.

Are you trying to use Firefox to write a novel? You would be better off using a "word" type program.
Not a Firefox support question.
