Mobile bookmarks not showing as stared on desktop

Hi, I am having an issue with bookmarks and sync.

Steps followed: My mom has Firefox for Android (68.0), and a Windows 10 computer with Firefox (75.0). She had not used the computer in about a month. When opening the computer, I noticed that her desktop bookmarks did not sync with her mobile bookmarks (some folders she had renamed/deleted on her phone still appeared on her desktop). I tried to manually sync on the computer. Nothing. When I checked her mobile I noticed that sync was off on her mobile, so I turned it on. I tried to sync again on her computer, logged off her account on computer, logged in again, tried to sync, then restarted the computer, reopened Firefox, tried to sync but nothing. I connected to her Firefox account on my tablet, and her mobile bookmarks synced perfectly on my tablet. So I uninstalled Firefox on her computer completely (deleting the APPDATA Firefox file) and reinstalled it.

The problem now:

  1. when opening the bookmark menu on the computer, the "mobile bookmarks" folder does not show. I went into "about:config", searched for "mobi", but the option "browser.bookmarks.showMobileBookmarks" does not appear at all.
  2. when searching for a mobile bookmark in the address bar, Firefox finds the bookmark (I see the URL) but it does not show as stared and when I click on it, the blue star does not appear. But there is some kind of sync working apparently, since Firefox recognizes the URLs of sites that are bookmarked on mobile!

I am not sure what the issue is and would appreciate some help. Thanks very much for your time.
