I have 2 TB account names in TB 52. Both can receive emails, one can both send and receive, one can receive only. The SMPT entered applies to both addresses, and always used to work, but before the latest TB update the problem began. I have looked at the passwords for both email addresses, tried changing the SMPT to both passwords one at a time. Nothing helps. No screenshots, as I don't think they would have any additional info except personal info. Anyone got an idea?

Things change and you have to keep up with them. FYI: There is no such thing as a Thunderbird account. Yahoo is the worst excuse for a provider ever. It is a shame so many providers are dumping their customers on Yahoo.

When you go to the screen depicted in the attached image and click on your 2 different accounts it shows the correct smtp server with the correct username that you setup?

This is the only question you have posted under this username.

Each account needs it's own SMTP server entry attached to that email address.

Thanks for the reply. How do I attach a different SMTP address to seperate accounts. I have tried both account names, but the result is always the same. the same account (the one I use least and most people don't know) works for incoming and outgoing while the one most people know works only for incoming. How do I get them both working again? both used to work fine.

Right click the account in the Folder Pane and select Settings. There will be a list of accounts on the left side of the Account Settings screen. Scroll to the bottom of this list and select Outgoing Server(SMTP) Do you see more than one SMTP server listed? There should be one for each account you have. If yes, you are done with this screen. If no you need to add one for the missing account. Since you indicated both accounts are from the same provider the only setting that will be different is the description and username.

After creating the new SMTP entry scroll up the account list and click on the problem account. This will bring up the Account Settings for this account. Towards the bottom of this screen is a field labeled Outgoing Server(SMTP) with a drop down menu beside it. Open the menu and select the SMTP server setting for this account. Click OK.

Already tried that, and it didn't work. Same ISP I have used for years with no problem. on ATT.net both addresses work fine to send and receive. It uses Yahoo as its mail server, as does my both my TB accounts and I hate the Yahoo Mail format. I have used TB sine it first came out years ago with no problems.

Can't read the screenshot in your solution, that might help, but why did the SMTP that had always worked suddenly stop for one address, but not the other?

Try clicking on the screenshot. Why the change? Ask your provider.
