I started up Firefox today and my bookmark folders are all empty. The folder titles show up in my toolbar but contain no websites and there are no bookmarks appearing that were not in folders. Everything else on Firefox seems to be fine. My passwords and settings are all the same. My homepage is not set anymore though either. I tried refreshing Firefox, I tried copying the files from the "old firefox data" that was created when I refreshed, I tried restarting my computer and firefox, but none of that has helped. There is only one default profile, no other profiles.

Hi wonder, I'm sorry to hear about this problem.

You could try the Restore feature to restore the last automatic bookmark backup. If you hadn't used Refresh, the Restore menu would show the dates of your automatic backups along with the number of items in the file (bookmarks + folders). But after a Refresh, I'm not sure those will be listed, you might need to use "Choose File..." and point Firefox up to your desktop, into the Old Firefox Data folder, into your old profile folder, and into the bookmarkbackups folder, to find the files.

Either way, this article describes where to find the Restore menu:

Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer

Does that work?

Regarding the home page, are you able to set that and have it stick or is Firefox not saving that setting?

Yes! That worked! Thank you so much. When I clicked on restore it showed the previous dates. Jan. 31 (and older dates) said 877 items while Feb 3 (and more recent) only had 36 for some reason so I picked Jan 31 and all my old bookmarks reappeared. Yay! I hope you have a wonderful day for that quick and easy fix.
