Thunderbird consistently cannot send email saying it does not recognize outgoing server after verifying as indicated above.
I first received an error message a couple weeks ago when attempting to send an email "This site attempts to identify itself with invalid information". After verifying the outgoing server and port information from the att.com website for snet.net email, I now get a message that Thunderbird doesn't recognize the server. Attached is info from Thunderbird (some info from Thunderbird info has been deleted due to file size) and last screenshot. Thanks.

My guess is you have undated the incoming password in Thunderbird, but not the outgoing one. They are two different passwords, Yahoo tossing a hissy instead of simply denying the connection means that your probably not prompted for the outgoing password. Options > Security > passwords. Click the saved passwords button and delete and SMTP passwords saved there for ATT or Yahoo. Or change the saved value if it is wrong.

'ATT' isn't a valid server name. Check with your email provider about the correct outgoing server settings and fix them in Thunderbird.
Here is all the info I can find on the att.com page for email settings. I have used the settings as indicated, but see no server name. Further ideas?
INSTRUCTIONS & INFO POP3 and IMAP email settings Your desktop email program (like Microsoft Outlook or Apple Mail) or mobile email app will use either POP3 or IMAP to send and receive email. Be sure to use the right server and port settings.
These settings are good for email addresses with any of these domains: @ameritech.net, @att.net, @bellsouth.net, @flash.net, @nvbell.net, @pacbell.net, prodigy.net, @sbcglobal.net, @snet.net, @swbell.net, or @wans.net.

As per your Troubleshooting Information you do seem to have some sort of mix-up between ATT and Yahoo. What's correct for your account, I don't know.
If it's ATT, then use the settings as per your above information, depending on your account type (POP or IMAP).
Chose 'SSL/TLS' for 'Connection security' in the Thunderbird Account Settings for both, incoming, and outgoing server. This will auto-fill the correct port number.
Note, for ATT you may need to create a Secure Mail Key. https://www.att.com/support/article/email-support/KM1240308

Have created a secure mail key with ATT and have entered it into the account information for Thunderbird following step-by-step directions at ATT.com. Not much has changed, except the error message now reads "Failed due to unexpected error 80004005"
First, change the connection security on the outgoing server to SSL/TLS, as mentioned above. The AT&T settings are here.
Second, delete the old password in Preferences/Security/Passwords/Saved Passwords, restart TB, and enter the secure key when prompted.

At the top right of the Thunderbird window, click the menu button 
, then select Help > Troubleshooting Information.

Passwords, both incoming and outgoing, are set to Yahoo/ATT OAuth keys as directed by ATT. Thanks for your help.
Solved finally by randomly editing outgoing server settings. Apparently my user name was not required previously. When I added that, the outgoing server asked for my password (I used the new OAuth key) and it restored my account. Thanks for all your suggestions.
