I keep getting the message 'connection to server pop.tools.sky.com was reset', how do I solve this and get my emails?

My email provider required me to change my password (which I have done before without issue). When going into thunderbird, I inputted the new password and it said the password was incorrect (even though it wasn't) so I tried again and it seemed to accept it. When I tried getting messages, this message appeared on-screen 'connection to server pop.tools.sky.com was reset'. This happens every time I try to get messages.
