auto shutdown
I have a webpage that I use that I need some help with. The first page automatically opens another page. I need the first page to refresh every hour but the problem with that is each time it refreshes it leaves the page that has been opened by it and opens another one. Every 24 hours you end up with 24 new pages opened. I have tried add-ons to close the older windows but none of them work. I only need the first page and the most recent one it has opned running. They don't open as a tab. Is there any way of auto closing firefox windows after a certain time?

What kinda webpage is this? I sound more like a timeout issues due to lack of activity either by the server or the site preferences settings.
The website needs refreshed as it either times out or crashes every so often so I have an add-on that automatically refreshes it every hour. Every time it refreshes it automatically launches another page, which it's meant to do but the page that was automatically launched before is still there. Over time this becomes an issue.
How are you refreshing this page? Does this happen with a manual refresh (F5)?
If this is a pop-up type window (tab) then try to disable pop-ups from this website to see if that prevents opening this tab. I don't know if it is otherwise possible to prevent opening this tab although you can try to open this page in a new window instead to see if this window is reused.
It's a pop up but i need it to pup up. It once the main page has refreshed the original pop up remains but a new one opens as well. Evert hour i get one more additional pop up. I want a way of closing old ones automatically. tab closing apps don't seem to work with window pop ups.
