I dont even know how to word this problem so please bear with me. For example: - In Facebook, I cant view my notification, because the notifications filed just buffers endlessly. - In Facebook messenger, I cant view my messages be cue it just buffers endlessly - If I am in another website and it wants me to send email though their own site, it just buffers endlessly

The websites themselves are working fine, but the features within the sites dont work.

I am on a Macbook Pro, (13-inch, Mid 2010), 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Memory 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 OS High Sierra, 10.13.6, Firefox Quantum 66.0.4 (64-bit)

I am also running the following extensions in Firefox: - Adblock Plus - Facebook Container - Honey - NoScript - Social Fixer for Facebook

I tried disabling social fixer, but it made no difference

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Did this help?

While you are in safe mode;

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

Please see this thread, which I started a couple of days ago...same problem...and I've gone down a lengthy list is interactive "fixes" that have resulted in bupkus...nada...nothing.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1259445?page=1

Perhaps this will eventually be looked at by Firefox, and the bug will be fixed...for now, we're just spinning our wheels pointlessly on this forum.

I'll tell you what's ridiculous...the same person helping here was trying to help me...and is starting over on a whole list of these fixes that have already proven to not-work. Why?

Someone needs to grab this issue by the throat at Firefox...just *admit* there's a problem, and tell us that someone is working on it.

That "same person" has been answering many, many questions and it is hard to remember every single thread one has posted in. We're only human .....

Yay  ! And you didn't make any changes  ?

I hope the same thing will happen for the users in that other
thread  !

Could it be that I was right thinking that the problem the OP in this thread was having, might not be the same problem you're having (?) Maybe you'd like to get back to your own thread; give it some time (one never knows what will happen - someone just might come up with the perfect solution) and if the problem persists, you could think about filing a bug report .....

I made no changes at all. over the past few days I had rebooted Firefox, rebooted the computer, looked for updates, and nothing solved the problem, but now suddenly the the problem which has been driving me nuts for about a a week, has suddenly resolved itself and I didn't even do anything at all.

I hope your computer learns to become self healing like mine has clearly done. LOL

It’s the exact same problem, and mine has not resolved...and the person “helping” on that thread has given up, and filed a report of some kind.

Mozilla needs to address and fix this quickly...it’s not an interface/settings issue...it’s a bug in their latest release.

There isn’t going to be any magical settings-fix for this...

As the OP declared a “solution” to this, Mozilla (via this forums messaging system) is now emailing me that the problem is fixed.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Trying to fix a flaw in the Firefox software in this fashion is a time-wasting joke.

@ lpattis :

Hey, Grumpy, will you please get back to your own thread, do what I suggested there, and just be happy for the OP in this thread  ?

You didn't actually suggest any kind of action that might lead to a fix, other than referring to the possibility of someone else coming up with a magical solution...

...and that ain't gonna happen.

Mozilla needs to be working on this bug.

Best of luck in helping people solve problems.
