I wanted to try out Quantum so I created a new email account, which is able to send and receive email from a variety of sources, and proceeded to create a Firefox account.

The process went smoothly until I I had to confirm my email and I cannot get past the error listed in the subject line.

- In order to try (or just install or update to) Quantum, you don’t need to set up any account for it, nor in any email client or at any email service, but I presume your intention was to use a distinct email for a Firefox Account for the purpose of using services like Sync, enabling you to synchronize some settings to other Firefox copies. - Registering / creating an account for support.mozilla.org is different and unrelated to Firefox Accounts. - The I'm having problems confirming my Mozilla account and I'm having problems with my Firefox Account support articles offer help with issues regarding a Firefox Account. Did you try all that’s listed there?

I would recommend making a backup of your local profile first and then creating a new Firefox account.
