Firefox runs real slow when I changed screens. Sometimes many seconds, things just quit working screen goes blank.

Sometimes it goes to wrong screen. I do not know how to reinstall or update. I would like to talk to a person I am old. I have no technical ability at all. I am confused by all instructions online. Please help me

My current version of Firefox is 151.0.4 (64-bit) & for the past 2 weeks or so every time I use the search bar to google something it triggers one of those "We've detected unusual activity from your network" requiring a Captcha. At first I tried all of the typical stuff [antivirus, vpn, extensions, etc...] to make sure that wasn't the issue. But as of yesterday & confirmed today I can actually go to Google's website first & do the search from there with no issue & no captcha.

So, whatever the issue is has to do specifically with doing the search via the search bar... for some reason. Is this a bug in the browser, or is there perhaps some setting that could cause this to happen in the about:config page? Though, I doubt a setting could be it because I've changed the settings I've changed now for years without causing this issue.

Firefox MAC freezes intermittently , will get spinning beach ball and status shows Firefox (Not Responding) and must force quit FF.

Sometimes FF after fresh down load from the official FF site for MAC will work great for an hour or half a day and then out of now where go into the spinning beach ball , and unable to enter data into any field - completly bricked and FF status shown as Not Responding. Tnis could happen immediately, or after an hour or anytime within a day or two.

No way of deciphering or determining what in the heck triggers it or why - way way too many factors and settings and variables both within the FF registry and the macOS and the activity I may or may not be doing at any given time.

I will say I experienced this when all apps on my MAC were shutdown, no apps up and running, but I do use Backblaze, Mai Backup X, Malwarebytes, Dropbox, MS NTFS Tuxera, DriveDX which all have ongoing background tasks running all the time or at least in the background from time to time.

However, I have used this setup for the last few years with Firefox MAC with absolutely no hiccup whatsoever.

And then immediately after the last FirForx update on Tahoe, just before I applied the latest 16.5.1 Tahoe upgrade is the intermittant freezing with FF started.

Could this be a FF / Tahoe incompatibility issue?

If not, does anyone out there have anything to fix this?

And yes i did a complete uninstall of all of FF hidden Library folders as well as the "firefox.app" itself - if anyone tells me to uninstall all the hidden FF folders and files in ~/Library one more time, then forget it, I am done using FireFox. Been there and done there a number of times the last week, exhausted with that, and doesn't do a thing.

And yes kept deleting and creating new FF profiles and did not fix the issue.

So does some great genius Mozzilla FF Mac SW engineer have any clue as to the real issue and the real fix without sending me on a wild goose chase?

I recently downloaded Firefox and was trying to import all of my Chrome data, including my bookmarks. For some reason when I go to import my browser data, there isn't even a option to import bookmarks. One of my other chrome accounts has the option to import bookmarks (a old work account I no longer use anymore), but my personal account just doesn't have it. Am I missing a step in this process or is there something I need to do on chrome to make my bookmarks accessible to Firefox? I really don't want to go in a manually add all my bookmarks..

I play https://crazyshooters.com/ and https://crazyshooters2.com/ a lot! But the game became laggy since Firefox 148 and my ping spikes up. Other browsers play fine. I am on Linux Mint if that helps. (147 and below run fine)

Fonts in the digital issues of the LA Times are changed. They appear as serif initially, but quickly change to a sans serif which appears to big for the space. The headlines are squeezed together and touching. Body copy is affected also. How to keep the fonts as they first come in?

The VIEW tab in my Firefox will/can read some links and articles to me. It is wonderful.Choosing 'READER VIEW' in the VIEW tab. But some it does not. I'm hoping some AI will have this feature.- speaking it to me. Thanks.

As the title suggests, here’s something that caught my attention in the new settings screen. Specify directly from about:config ↓ Change `network.trr.mode`

Value Behavior 0 Do not use DoH 2 TRR-first 3 TRR-only 5 User explicitly disables DoH

Does this provide the same effect as the “Strong Protection” and “Maximum Protection” options that were available in the previous settings screen? I would appreciate your response.

I'm very disappointed that DirecTV no longer allows me to login to my account from my Firefox browser. They now allow me to login only if I'm using either Chrome or Edge.

Overnight firefox doesn't launch anymore.

I have firefox installed via Software Manager flatpak (official Mozilla version) but it doesn't launch anymore. Clicking launch does nothing. Version is 156.0

I tried to launch the program in safe mode via console but it straight up doesn't find it?

I would love to add troubleshooting info but I can't actually get to it. I assume an update broke something but no idea how to solve this, can I go to an earlier version?

what it says on the tin. went data purging with ol reliable WinDirStat and found this absolute behemoth of a file in the profiles directory for firefox. its especially weird considering the entire Firefox directory itself is only 1.5GB with this menace taking 1.3 of it. I cant imagine that bookmarks, search history, passwords, the works takes up any more than about 300mb. so im wondering if im just stuck in the early days of data or if the file really is just that girthy.

I use Firefox under Fedora (I'm two OS versions behind, must upgrade soon). I open very many tabs each day then work through them, theoretically every day, in practice they accumulate and I deal with them when I can. I rely on the tabs loading correctly on restart, but today they didn't, instead the set of tabs that were opened a few days ago loaded, and I lost everything I had done since then. Is there a way to retrieve the tabs that were opened just before this happened, ie around 15-20 hours ago? Ideally, again, I would merge them with the current ones, but reopening the old ones would take much much longer than reopening the new ones. Thank you for any advice.
